Granite Le Pelley has been working on the final parts of the private residence ‘Charlotte Battery’ in Fort George. The final works have consisted of two intricate mosaic designs totalling 11.5m². Both mosaics have been done with replica handmade Victorian tiles by Original Style UK. The full tiles were broken then had all the edges sanded to remove any sharpness before being adhesive fixed to the screed sub base. Full sheets of 6mm thick plywood were used and water jet cut by Atec Engineering in Guernsey to make full size templates, this allowed a very simple and straight forward option to setting out, this also ensured an exact replication of the Chelsea flower Show Gold winning Landscape Architect Steve Welch design.
