The term sandstone is used to describe almost any stone of sedimentary origin with a granular texture.

Sandstone has many colours ranging from white, grey and buff to various shades of pink and red.  It generally has an even texture, which may vary from course to fine but can also have some attractive markings.

Sandstone is suitable for paving and flooring.  It can have a variety of finishes depending on what is required and is also good for cladding work.
